jesse doubiago
Jesse Doubiago, also known as Metallic Tiara, is a Maine College of Art & Design graduate living in Western Mass. Jesse graduated with a major in ceramics and a minor in Sustainable Ecosystems Art & design. Most of Jesse’s work revolves around the gruesome horrors of 19th-Century medical history. She mixes her special effects makeup skills with her medical research in order to create visually interactive moments in history that the viewer can experience. Besides her work revolving around medical horror, she also spends a lot of time in between bigger projects making little goofy creatures with big noses.
These creatures don't have particular names, but I do, in general, call them little men.
These pieces are made out of high-fired stoneware clay, and sometimes they are specialty fired in raku kilns and pit fires. They are creatures with elongated noses and long feet. Each one has a different pose and surfacing - none are the same.
